I would say yes for the most part. I don't like to be bombarded by phone calls or junk mail. I made that clear to my advisor. Sometimes when you tell a salesman something they don't pay attention. My advisor did, so he gets a positive checkmark for that. I did convey to him that if he had something important that I need to know let's make a proper appointment and sit down and talk about it. I respond to face-to-face meetings better than I do junk mail or dinnertime phone calls.

I would say my advisor has been doing a pretty good job of connecting with me. I can't really speak for other boomers. As for me, I'm still what I'd consider pretty old-fashioned. I like to meet with my advisor at his office. I don't respond to flash and slick sales. I want someone to look me in the eyes and answer any questions that I have and my advisor has been able to do that.
