The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), Tucson, Ariz., a group that opposes what it believes to be excessive government and managed care company involvement in medicine, has been posting videos from its latest annual meeting.
Dr. Jane Orient, the executive director of the AAPS, talks in one video about AASP efforts to fight the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA) with "Stop Obamacare" bumper stickers, amicus briefs filed with the U.S. Supreme Court, and lobbying in Congress and state legislatures.
"Even some of our Republican friends are talking about 'repeal and replace,"" Orient said at the meeting, which took place in January in Las Vegas. "This makes me really nervous, because they're talking about replacing one unconstitutional federal piece of legislation with another one."
