Securian Receives Jefferson Award

Securian was chosen on December 19 to be the recipient of the Jefferson Award for the Twin Cities by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. It was one of 12 companies vying for the honor.

Securian Financial Group (Securian), St. Paul MN, is the holding company parent of a group of companies that include the Minnesota Life Insurance Company and its New York affiliate, Securian Life Insurance Company.

The Jefferson Award is considered to be the "The Nobel Prize for Community Service." Since its founding in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, US Senator Robert Taft Jr., and Sam Beard, chairman of the National Development Council, the award has strove to "recognize, inspire and activate volunteerism and public service in communities, workplaces and schools across America."

Greg Moore, executive vice president, Jefferson Awards lauded Securian for exemplifying the award through their strong commitment to philanthropy and volunteerism.
