You know his style of play isn't the only unconventional thing about him. It's the intangibles that have really set him apart from your typical NFL star and created Tebowmania. His belief in himself and his teammates inspired confidence for the entire team, which, at 1-4 before he became the starter, was on its way to an unremarkable season. Then came the winning streak filled with fourth-quarter comebacks that not only turned the Denver Broncos season around, but also captivated the imagination of the entire country.
While he may not seem to be effective for long stretches of many games, he modestly maintains an undying belief that he and his teammates are eventually going to make positive things happen — and then they do. While I'll stay out of the religious conversation surrounding his well-professed faith, his belief in good old-fashioned hard work and a good attitude are infectious to his teammates and create the opportunity to achieve great success. There's a lot of talk about Tebow's choir boy personality, but maybe what doesn't receive enough attention is how hard he works to make himself the best he can be. He has often been called "the best-conditioned athlete" in the NFL — and that's something that doesn't happen without continually putting in the extra hours. No one outworks him, and his team has been the beneficiary. He is the quintessential leader by example.
Tebow's example extends beyond the football field. Outwork the competition, believe in yourself and your team, lead by example and good things will happen.
Sounds like a blueprint for success in any profession.
