Here's a way to combine a charitable good deed with buying land in a sunny climate: The Special Olympics will offer in a charity auction a donated plot of land with an ocean view in The Bahamas, according to an announcement from the donor, Paradise is Mine LLC.

The land is to be auctioned by Hammer and Block Auctioneers at a black-tie Special Olympics fundraiser in Miami on May 21; 500 people are expected to attend.

Paradise is Mine LLC, has not announced the location or size of the lot to be auctioned. The company describes itself on its website as a "global real estate marketmaker," and a "U.S.-based marketing company providing services for Bahamian property owners."

"This event promises to be a smash," Neil Hunt of Hammer and Block stated in the announcement on Thursday.
