Want a luxury apartment walking distance from the trading floor? A top dining experience for clients without resorting to the subway?

FiDiDigs.com, a self-designated "premier real estate, lifestyle and events blog," claims to have it all, from real estate listings to the best financial district burgers to even a roommate matchmaking service, all in the shadow of Wall Street.

Featuring a community blog and promoting events in the area, FiDiDigs.com capitalizes on the abbreviation of the Wall Street neighborhood's appellation: FiDi (for financial district, natch). It not only gathers real estate listings and potential roommates, but offers blog entries on fine dining, burgers and beer, and all the other attractions of that part of the city known better for dollars than dazzle.

Creator and CEO Lak Vohra said in a statement, "People all over country have heard about the many great rental and sales deals available for apartments in the Financial District, but until now there hasn't been an effective go-to guide for the average person on how to enter that market." He continued, "We really wanted to create a space where people can get important tips on what it takes to snag these deals and an insider's look into all of the fun, exciting things to do and places to see once they get here."

Monthly hosted "Roommate Matchmaking Mixers" and social networking parties, boasts the site, are among its most popular events, with its first such event drawing 50 people. Claiming 50,000 page views per month and 10,000 e-mail subscribers since its launch (it went live earlier this year), the site aims to be the go-to place for FiDi denizens to connect—with each other and with the food and lodging movers and shakers in the area. Future plans include special events and tours that will include rental and sales buildings in the area.

Vohra, a broker who has lived in the district for the past year and a half, said in an interview, "I basically felt there was a big need to define the financial district. It needed a voice and a focus on the area. It's not like a regular neighborhood anywhere else in Manhattan."

"FiDi is more than just a center for finance and real estate—it's a close-knit community of students, working professionals, families and business owners alike," Vohra said in a statement. "Forty percent of FiDi residents walk to work every day; we want FiDiDigs.com to be a gathering place for all of these people to connect with each other, engage in all the amazing networking opportunities we offer, and re-discover New York's Financial District as the gem it truly is."
