Baird Adds 7 FAs in Midwest, Southeast from Morgan Stanley

Baird said Tuesday that it added a veteran financial advisor team, the Crawford, Holzrichter & Morrison Group, to its new wealth management office in Sioux City, Iowa.  The group joins Milwaukee-based Baird from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, where it managed about $195 million in assets and has yearly sales (or production) of $1.5 million.

The three financial advisors in the group, Richard Crawford, Daniel Holzrichter and Jay Morrison all joined Citigroup, the previous parent company of Smith Barney, in March 2001. Gwen Berkenpas, the registered client relationship associate who is coming over to Baird with the team, joined team in August 2007.

"We are thrilled to welcome the Crawford, Holzrichter & Morrison Group to Baird," said Erik Dahlberg, managing director and regional director for Baird's Private Wealth Management group, in a press release. 

"These well-respected and talented financial professionals are a great addition to the firm and their decision to join Baird speaks volumes about our culture and commitment to offer leading-edge wealth management solutions to individual clients and families in Iowa and beyond," Dahlberg explained.

Employee-owned Baird now has more than 680 financial advisors nationwide with about $63 million in client assets. Since early 2009, it has added close to 180 FAs.

In Iowa, Baird says it also has offices in Cedar Rapids, Davenport and West Des Moines. Across the United States, its newest office locations include Sioux City, Charlotte, N.C., Winston-Salem, N.C, Denver, Sacramento, Calif., Lynchburg, Va.,  Baltimore and Easton, Md.In addition, the broker-dealer says it plans to open offices in Raleigh, N.C., Portland, Ore.

Southeast Additions

On Feb. 15, Bairdsaid advisors Conrad Zimmerman, John A. Warren and Gray Coulton joined its Charleston, S.C., wealth management office from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.  Moving to Baird with the team is Linda Slade, registered client relationship associate.

Baird opened the Charleston office in August 2010.

Before joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Zimmerman was with its legacy firm Robinson Humphrey. Zimmerman served as the former branch manager of Robinson Humphrey's Charleston office and helped expand the branch from seven advisors and $600 million in assets to 34 advisors and $3 billion in assets.

Also on Feb. 15, James A. ("Drew") Perryman joined Baird's Charlotte branch from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Perryman, CFP, joins the firm as a senior vice president and has more than 25 years of industry experience.

Baird says its Charlotte office now has more than 25 associates.
