Baird said late Monday that Chris Brewster has joined Baird from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to lead the firm's wealth management offices in Columbus, Ohio.

Brewster has more than 16 years of experience in the financial-services industry, both as a financial advisor and in branch management, according to Baird. He was a non-producing manager of the Columbus-Easton branch of MSSB from 2005 until 2010.

Baird says Brewster joins the wealth-management firm as a non-producing manager of the Columbus office, which has 10 financial advisors and 27 associates. Baird also has a wealth management and fixed income capital markets presence in Columbus.

"Chris is a tremendous addition to our Private Wealth Management branch management team and to Baird," said Matt Curley, national sales director and chief operating officer for Baird's Private Wealth Management group.

Based in Milwaukee, Wis., Baird now includes more than 680 financial advisors, who had nearly $60 billion in client assets as of Sept. 30, 2010.

In late November, Baird added a three-member advisor team from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Sioux City, Iowa.

Baird added more than 60 advisors and branch managers in 2010, after hiring 100-plus FAs in 2009.
