Dirk Kempthorne — a former mayor, senator, governor and U.S. Interior secretary — is now president of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI).
The ACLI, Washington, has implemented previously announced plans to have Kempthorne succeed Frank Keating.
"One of my priorities in my new role will be to highlight how life insurers help Americans address very real concerns about their financial futures," Kempthorne says in a statement. "I also will spread the word on the how life insurers' long-term investments promote economic growth in communities nationwide."
