Chilton Investment Co. Forms Private Wealth Management Business

Chilton Investment Co.has formed Chilton Trust Management LLC in Palm Beach, Fla., to advise and provide wealth management services to ultra high-net-worth individuals, the firm announced Monday.

Chilton Trust Management will offer full-service, customized private wealth management services: asset allocation advice, portfolio management, tax advice, and trust and estate planning in conjunction with its clients' advisors.

Chilton has named Garrison Lickle (left) president and chief executive of Chilton Trust Management. Most recently, Lickle was regional president of Lehman Brothers Trust Co. and managing director of Lehman Brothers and Neuberger Berman. He joined Barclays Wealth as managing director after Barclays acquired Lehman. Earlier in his career, he was chairman and chief executive of U.S. Trust Co. of Florida.

Richard Chilton,chairman, CEO and chief investment officer of Chilton Investment Company, said in the statement: "Since our firm's founding almost 20 years ago, we have instilled a culture in which the interests of our clients come first. Consistent with this philosophy, we believe now is the precise right time for us to create an independent firm that serves the large and underserved market for value-added private wealth management for ultra high-net-worth individuals."

Chilton will also serve as chief investment officer of the new wealth management business, according to the statement.

In addition to Lickle, the other members of Chilton Trust Management's senior management team are:

  • John Rau, a trust and estate attorney and wealth management professional and a long-time colleague of Lickle, who has joined as senior vice president.
  • Mary Morse, a wealth management professional who worked with Lickle at U.S. Trust and later at Lehman/Barclays, who has also come on board as a senior vice president.
  • Paul Napoleon, a tax professional experienced in serving high-net-worth individual clients, will join the team as a senior vice president on November 15. For the past 12 years, he has worked in the personal financial services division at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Chilton also announced that, as part of the formation of Chilton Trust Management, it will integrate family office services into the new venture, under the leadership of Lisa Czachor, who will serve as director, and Kellie Zesch, who will be a vice president. The Chilton family office comprised five investment and accounting professionals.

Czachor joined Chilton as family office director in 2008 from Belvedere Property Management, where she was the chief financial officer.  Zesch, who assists with the office's investment strategy, joined the firm in 2007 from Cambridge Associates.
