David Sandberg, vice president and corporate actuary for Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life), was elected president-elect for the American Academy of Actuaries by its board of directors.
"The academy membership includes more than 17,000 actuaries, and the president-elect position demands tremendous leadership," said Allianz Life Chief Actuary Neil McKay. "Dave will help further their mission with public policy, as well as maintain and advance the integrity of the actuarial profession."
Sandberg has served in various leadership roles for the Academy, including five years as a member of the Board with two of those as vice president of its Life Practice Council. With the new appointment, he will serve as president-elect for one year and then as president for one year.
