The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE: HIG) has named Grace Figueredo as vice president of diversity and inclusion.

Figueredo had been director of workforce diversity for United Technologies Corp.

She is a board member of the Connecticut Women's Legal and Education Fund.

Figueredo has a master's degree from the University of Hartford and a bachelor of science degree from Queens College of the City University of New York.

In other personnel news:

John Hancock Financial Network (JHFN), Boston, has hired Bruce Harrington. Harrington will report to Christopher Maryanopolis, president, Signator Investors Inc, the broker-dealer for JHFN, part of Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto (NYSE:MFC).

Most recently, Harrington was senior vice president in the retirement solutions division of LPL Financial Corp., a unit of Linsco/Private Ledger Corp., Boston.

Symetra Life Insurance Company, Bellevue, Wash., has appointed Richard LaVoice as executive vice president, sales and distribution for life insurance and annuity products.

LaVoice had been corporate vice president and national sales manager of retirement income at MassMutual Financial Group, part of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass.

LaVoice has a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Security Benefit Retail Retirement has named Ken DiFrancesca vice president, sales and business development. His duties will focus on sales and distribution in non-educational retail channels and annuity markets, according to the company, part of Security Benefit Corp., Topeka, Kan.

DiFrancesca has worked for Fort Dearborn Life Insurance Company, a unit of Health Care Service Corp., Chicago. He has a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master's from Northwestern University.

Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) has appointed Andrew J. Powers as vice president, defined contribution strategy.

Powers had been division vice president at UNIFI Companies Retirement Plans, a unit of UNIFI Mutual Holding Company, Lincoln, Neb.

GenSpring Family Offices, Palm Beach, Fla., has hired Jay C. Cloud as a family wealth advisor in its Nashville, Tenn. office

Cloud had been a partner with the Nashville law firm, Bradley Arant Boult Cummings L.L.P.

He received a Masters in tax law from the University of Florida College of Law and his law degree from the University of Arkansas.

GenSpring Family Offices is a unit of SunTrust Banks Inc., Atlanta.

Transamerica Retirement Services has named Paul Patitucci regional vice president in its northeastern region. He will oversee sales and distribution in eastern Pennsylvania for Transamerica Retirement, part of Transamerica Life Insurance Co., Los Angeles.

He will be based in Wayne, Pa, and report to Christopher Barrett, divisional vice president for the northeast region.

Patitucci previously was regional sales director for Hartford Retirement Services L.L.C, part of Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. He has a bachelor's degree and M.B.A. from Temple University.
