Huffman Candidate for Ohio National CEO Post

David O'Maley, the chairman, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Ohio National Financial Services, says he will be retiring from the president and CEO positions Nov. 30.

Gary "Doc" Hoffman is in line to become president and CEO, O'Maley says.

Ohio National is a the operating arm of Ohio National Mutual Holding Company.

O'Maley has been with Ohio National since 1992 and chairman, president and CEO since 1994. He is a member of the board of the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation, Park Ridge, Ill.

While he led the company, Ohio National increased assets to $27 billion, from $4.1 billion, and its continued a 100-year history of having no layoffs, the company says.

"During the past 2 years, we have seen one of the most difficult economic periods of our nation's lifetime," O'Maley says in a statement. "As often occurs in times of great stress, the real fiber and character of a company emerges. Ohio National has stood tall during this difficult time and has continued to differentiate itself as a 'flight-to-quality' winner."

Huffman, the former chairman, president and CEO of Union Central Life Insurance Company, Cincinnati, begain working for Ohio National as vice chairman in 2008. He is a former chairman of LIMRA, Windsor, Conn., and a current member of the board of the American College. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky.
