Penn Mutual's Thomas Harris appointed to The American College's Board of Trustees

The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Horsham, Pa., has announced Thomas H. Harris, CLU, ChFC, FLMI, Senior Vice President of Penn Mutual's Independence Financial Network (IFN), has been named to The American College Board of Trustees. During his three-year term, Harris will join 41 other committed trustees who will assist Dr. Larry Barton in directing the College to its premier position in offering and granting accredited graduate degrees and professional designations.

Harris joined Penn Mutual as Senior Vice President of its Independence Financial Network last year. He is currently responsible for all areas of this distribution channel, including strategic and business planning, leadership development and business growth. Additionally, he leads annuity distribution for Penn Mutual. He came to Penn Mutual with over 25 years of experience in all facets of distribution leadership, most recently as Senior Vice President, Prudential Select Brokerage, where he was responsible for growing life insurance sales through independent producers.

Harris graduated from Temple University with a degree in Actuarial Science. Active in the industry, Harris is a member of the AALU, past chair and current member of the ACLI Distribution Committee, co-chair of the ACLI Producer Licensing Task Force, and former chair of the LIMRA Brokerage Committee.

Harris and his family reside in Doylestown, Pa.
