The Regulatory Framework Task Force will be busy updating National Association of Insurance Commissioners appeals and managed care models.
The task force, an arm of the NAIC, Kansas City, Mo., that helps develop model acts and regulations for state health care initiatives, recently posted a work plan for reviewing and revised NAIC models affected by the new Affordable Care Act, the legislative package that includes the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
The task force is expediting reviews of models affected by PPACA provisions that will take effect Sept. 23.
In September, the task force will review the Utilization Review and Benefit Determination Model Act, the Health Carrier Grievance Procedure Model Act and the Managed Care Plan Network Adequacy Model Act.
