The Massachusetts Division of Insurance (MDI) will hold a public hearing July 28 on "transparency in the health care marketplace."

The hearing, to be held at its offices in Boston, will invite public comment on the benefits of clear disclosures by insurers of cost information on specific medical procedures, the MDI says.

The event will feature a panel presentation by industry representatives, consumer advocates and other experts, moderated by Barbara Anthony, the state's Undersecretary of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.
