I am pleased to announce we have three very distinguished producers who have agreed to participate in our second free live Web Seminar event of the year, "Emerging Trends in Life Insurance," which is scheduled for noon EDT on Thursday, Sept. 23.

Our panelists are Thomas J. Henske, CFP, ChFC, CLU, CLTC, CTS, partner at Lenox Advisors, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of National Financial Advisors; W. Luther Pierce IV, CLU, president of Plybon & Associates; and E. Dennis Zahrbock, CFP, ChFC, president of Business & Estate Advisers, Inc.

Tom Henske, a former All-American goalie who helped the Virginia Cavaliers soccer team to its first of three consecutive NCAA championships, is now one of seven partners at Lenox Advisors, which has offices in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Stamford, Conn. In addition to working with individual clients on their financial planning needs, Henske oversees the marketing vision for the firm. He is also a leading advocate for fostering financial literacy and values for children, developing a revolutionary program (Money-Smart Kids) and speaking on the topic at industry events.

Lou Pierce has been in the business since 1977, and is a Life and Qualifying Member of MDRT. He is also the 2010 Top of the Table Chairman for MDRT. Pierce is a frequent speaker on insurance and employee benefit topics. In a mini-sneak preview of Chuck Hirsch, CLU's September issue "Producer Roundtable" article in Life Insurance Selling, which will feature these three panelists, Pierce says the "capital needs analysis paradigm has been shifted on its head" – we'll be sure to ask him about that during the Web Seminar.

Denny Zahrbock has more than 40 years of financial services experience and is a nationally known expert in the fields of retirement planning, business transition planning and estate planning. He founded Business & Estate Advisers, Inc., in 1977, and has offices in Wayzata, Minn., and Rice Lake, Wis. All three partners in the company are members of the Top of the Table. Business & Estate Advisers is one of less than 25 firms in the nation that have three Top of the Table members in one firm.

Among the topics the panelists are expected to discuss during the live event are:

  • Fiduciary vs. suitability standard debate, and the potential impact for agents
  • Estate tax uncertainty and threats to the tax-protected status of life insurance
  • The rise of combo products
  • How to reach out to the underserved middle market

If you want to help shape the discussion, leave a comment below with your suggestion and perhaps your question will become part of the debate. And even if it doesn't, don't worry, a live Q&A session with the audience will conclude the event. To sign up for the free Web Seminar, click here.

And in case you missed our previous Web Seminar, "Opportunities in the DI Market," you can still catch it by clicking here.
