Mutual fund research firm Morningstar, based in Chicago, announced it has launched Newsletter Builder, a Web-based publishing platform to help financial advisors "quickly communicate important investing trends and information to clients."

According to Morningstar, Newsletter Builder uses the company's analysis, design and editorial resources to give advisors the ability to create monthly newsletters in minutes.

Using a simple drag-and-drop interface, advisors can design a customized newsletter for their clients from an online library of FINRA-reviewed Morningstar articles and charts, searchable by topic and keyword. Advisors can then seamlessly integrate their own content into the newsletter alongside Morningstar content designed to help clients better understand investment concepts, best practices and financial goal planning. Professionally designed layout templates allow advisors to adjust the look of their newsletter to suit specific clients and to include their own profiles, photos, logos, and contact information.

"At a time when investors are looking for more guidance, we've created a tool for advisors to make their client communications more efficient and insightful," said Mike Barad, vice president of financial communications for Morningstar, in a statement. "Newsletter Builder's customization features enable advisors to provide visually dynamic newsletters tailored to their clients' needs with FINRA-reviewed content that helps advisors meet compliance requirements."

Morningstar adds new content to Newsletter Builder's online library each month, covering a variety of investing topics, including portfolio construction, investment planning, and personal finance. Advisors can either deliver customized newsletters to clients in electronic pdf file format, or save and print the newsletters locally to deliver in a hard copy format.

A one-year, single-user subscription to Newsletter Builder is $399.
