A subsidiary of WellPoint Inc. has started selling a new collection of Medicare supplement products in the Show Me State.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri, which has offices in St. Louis, says it will offer plans A, F, high-deductible F, G and N with effective dates starting June 1.
Anthem Blue Missouri is a unit of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis (NYSE:WLP).
WellPoint and other carriers are revamping Medigap lines in response to the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008, which redesigned the list of standardized Medigap plans that carriers can offer.
Anthem Blue Missouri can no longer sell the Medigap plans it has been selling, but patients who like those plans can keep the plans, the company says.
