Health Insurer Holders Cast 46% Of Votes For Pay Proposal

Shareholders of UnitedHealth Group Inc. defeated a "say on pay" measure by a relatively narrow margin.

The proposal to give shareholders a chance to vote on executive compensation packages received about 46% of the shareholder votes cast at the annual meeting of UnitedHealth, Minnetonka, Minn. (NYSE:UNH), the company says.

Another proposal, a measure calling for UnitedHealth to expand disclosure of lobbying expenses, attracted just 7.3% of the votes cast.
