A unit of MetLife Inc. has published a report that can help employers understand the importance of protecting employees against the risk of disability.
"Everything Changed in the Blink of an Eye, Putting a Face on the Emotional and Financial Impact of Disability" uses data gained from a survey of people who experienced disabilities that caused them to miss at least 6 months of work.
Some of the survey participants had good disability insurance, but others did not, and MetLife, New York (NYSE:MET), says the differences between the two groups of survey participants are stark.
