An ancillary benefits carrier has cut the ribbon on a new, 24,500-square-foot national headquarters building.

Starmount Life Insurance Company, Baton Rouge, La., and its affiliate, AlwaysCare Benefits Inc., started construction of the new Starmount Building, at 8485 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, about 12 months ago.

Starmount and AlwaysCare sell life insurance, dental insurance, vision plans and hearing benefits plans.

The new building will give the companies the ability to sell all products through one call center, with enrollment and claims operations located in the same building, Starmount says.

Building features include software-controlled heating and cooling systems, a voice-over-Internet phone system, and a new call center management system.

Hans Sternberg, the chairman of Starmount, and Erich Sternberg, the president, appeared at the building ribbon-cutting along with Baton Rouge Mayor Melvin Holden.
