Major life industry organizations are celebrating Financial Literacy Month by offering producers tools they can use to reach out to consumers and schools in their communities.

The groups are the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, Falls Church, Val; the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education, Arlington, Va.; the Million Dollar Round Table, Park Ridge, Ill.; and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Falls Church.

April is the 2010 Financial Literacy Month.

The life groups have posted a toolkit that life producers can use to offer the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s financial literacy program to clients and prospects.

The groups also have posted information about introducing local teachers to NextGen3, an interactive program that teachers high school students about life, disability and health insurance.
