Gene Berry appointed Vice President, CIO, for OneAmerica companies

The OneAmerica companies, Indianapolis, have named Gene P. Berry, CLU, ChFC, CASL, to the position of Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He will succeed outgoing Vice President and Chief Information Officer Emet Talley who will retire June 1.

A life insurance executive with more than 30 years of experience, Berry's areas of expertise include information technology and insurance operations. Before joining OneAmerica, Berry served as the senior vice president of insurance services and chief information officer for Shenandoah Life Insurance Company, where he oversaw the company's technology and insurance operations. Previously, he worked for Fremont Life Insurance Company and Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA).

While focusing on OneAmerica's goals of strength and growth, Berry will continue building and developing the enterprise's information technology strategy. Additionally, he will directly manage a team of eight systems vice presidents. As CIO, Berry will serve as a member of OneAmerica's Management Committee.

Berry graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Business Administration and Computer and Information Science. Additionally, he holds an MBA in Finance from The California State University, Fullerton.
