A health carrier sales technology company has scooped up a broker sales technology company.

Connecture Inc., Atlanta, helps about 80 health insurers distribute their products.

Insurint Corp., Radnor, Corp., runs a multi-carrier quoting system.

Together, the companies serve about half of the major health carriers, Connecture says.

"In this post-health care reform environment, it is critical that technology is leveraged to take cost and friction out of the membership acquisition and retention process," Dan Maynard, chief executive officer of Connecture, says in a statement about the deal. "Public and private aggregators and brokers will continue to play a large role in the health insurance market if they leverage the benefits that technology has to offer."

The price of the deal and other details were not immediately available.
