A company providing long term care information and assistance is collaborating with a legal service to offer employees help in protecting seniors in their care.

CareScout has partnered with ARAG, which provides legal insurance and services, to develop a worksite program that combines legal services with caregiving support for employees who must help care for their parents or grandparents.

The services will help reduce the burden on employers who must provide care for aging seniors, according to ARAG, Des Moines, which is part of a legal insurer based in Dusseldorf, Germany.

ARAG Caregiving Services includes access to legal professionals for advice and consultation on elder law concerns; annual legal check-ups to address legal needs of seniors; and access to online tools and resources, including do-it-yourself legal documents.

Under the arrangement, CareScout is offering support services to employees in assessing elder caregiving needs along with information, ratings and reports on long term care facilities.

CareScout is the marketing name of National Eldercare, Wellesley, Mass., a unit of Genworth Financial Inc., Richmond, Va.
