An insurer that is making an aggressive effort to raise its profile in the U.S. market will be marketing 4 different group dental program options

Nippon Life Benefits, New York, a unit of Nippon Life Insurance Company, Osaka, Japan, has started offering a choice of Premium Plus, Premium, Advantage and Basic plans.

Larger employers can customize plans and choose between paying for the coverage themselves or having employees pay for the coverage on a voluntary basis, Nippon Life says.

Employers also have a choice of deductibles, coinsurance percentages and annual maximums, and, in some cases, they may qualify for multi-product discounts. They also can offer a benefits rollover feature.

The dental network now includes the Aetna Dental Administrators network as well as the Dental Health Alliance and First Dental Health networks.
