WASHINGTON BUREAU — Mike Hunter, who has served as chief operating officer of the American Council of Life Insurers for the past 6 years, will be returning to Oklahoma.

Hunter is returning to Oklahoma to become executive director and secretary of the state's Commissioners of the Land Office, an agency that manages more than 1.7 million acres of real estate and mineral interests in trust for the state, according to Frank Keating, president of the ACLI, Washington.

"Mike's work on behalf of the ACLI and its member companies has been exemplary," says ACLI Chairman Patrick Baird. "His presence here will be missed."

Hunter's duties will be assumed by three of the remaining ACLI administrators, Keating says.

- Kim Dorgan, executive vice president – federal relations, will become senior executive vice president, federal relations and political affairs.

- David Turner, senior vice president and corporate secretary will add the title of chief of staff to his duties.

- Donald Walker, chief financial officer and treasurer, will also serve as senior vice president – administration.
