An insurer group and a health data clearinghouse accreditor plan to work together to promote more use of health data exchange through clearinghouses.

The Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare, Washington, and the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission, Washington, say they have formed a partnership.

CAQH represents health insurers and other payers, and it has developed its own CORE health data exchange rules.

EHNAC has developed the HNAP accreditation criteria for health data exchange clearinghouses, which also are known as "electronic health networks."

CAQH and EHNAC have agreed to offer fee discounts to clearinghouses that want to get both CORE rules certification and HNAP accreditation.
