About 75% of U.S. consumers prefer to buy life insurance from agents or other non-Web providers.

Consultants at Accenture Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda, have published that finding in a summary of results from a Web-based survey of 1,005 U.S. citizens who are at least 18 years old and own at least one insurance product.

About 39% of consumers ages 18 to 24 said they would prefer to buy insurance online, but 75% of all of the survey participants said they would prefer to buy life insurance from a source such as an insurance agent, an employer or a financial advisor.

About 79% of the participants said they are not thinking about buying a new life insurance product in the next 12 months.
