Ternian Insurance Group L.L.C. has jumped into the limited-benefit health insurance market.

Ternian, Phoenix, a company that has been running direct voluntary benefits programs, says the new HealthSelect, HealthBasics and HealthAssure plans offer a wide array of options, including a choice between indemnity plans and plans that pay based on the amount of expenses incurred.

All of the plans are employee-paid.

Features include Web- and telephone-based enrollment and administration systems, guaranteed-issue underwriting, a physician finder tool, a prescription price comparison tool, and the option for employers to choose plan designs that eliminate deductibles.

The founders of Ternian are veterans of Star HRG, Phoenix, a limited-benefit plan company that was acquired by CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia.
