Industry News: Vanguard, Fidelity, Janus

Fidelity Investments says it reopened the Fidelity Diversified International Fund and Fidelity Small Cap Stock Fund to new investors and accounts on March 30. The funds had been closed since October 2004 and June 2006 respectively. In addition, Fidelity has opened a new fund – the Fidelity Global Commodity Stock Fund – to investors and through advisors.

Vanguard has announced that shares of its new international small-cap index fund, Vanguard FTSE All-World ex-U.S. Small-Cap Index Fund, are available for purchase. The fund's investor shares have an estimated expense ratio of 0.60 percent, while institutional shares have an estimated expense ratio of 0.35 percent.

Perkins Investment Management a subsidiary of Janus Capital Group, says its Perkins Small-Cap Value Fund (JSCVX) is now open to new investors. It had been closed to new investors since March of 2000.
