An insurer is making a benefits system designed for small and midsize employers available in the Sunshine State.

Unum Group Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., says it has introduced the Simply Unum program in Florida.

The program uses one computer system to administer a package of group disability, group life and voluntary benefits for employers with fewer than 500 employees.

Unum launched the Simply Unum program in April 2008 and now offers it in 46 states.

In Florida, Unum has used earlier sales and administration systems to sell benefit plans that provide coverage for about 400,000 workers.
