The College for Financial Planning will implement changes to renewal requirements next spring for its professional designations.

The renewal requirements will entail taking 16 hours of continuing education every two years and complying with an updated ethical component. The changes come amid changing regulations in the financial services industry and as a move to strengthen the credibility of the CFP and other designations and the professionals who hold them.
