The future of boomer homes

High-tech home models are giving boomers a glimpse of what "assisted living" will be like 20 to 30 years from now. The Mercury News in Silicon Valley highlights a new demonstration house in Sacramento, which paints a picture of future senior living:

o In-home blood pressure check on a wireless device that sends results to nurses.
o Webcams offer personal medical consultations without an office visit

o Sensors that detect motion – If motion falls to an unusually low level suggesting a fall or medical problem, alerts are sent to children or others
