Philip Tasho, CEO and CIO of Alexandria, Virginia-based TAMRO Capital Partners, always had an affinity for languages. That's why he chose to major in Russian for his undergraduate degree at Grinnell College in Iowa.
"I'm thinking of taking up Chinese," he says, "but it may be quite difficult."
He's also the only member of his family to become an investment professional: All the rest are in the restaurant business. "My father was a chef–food is big in our family," he says. Tasho himself loves to cook, though, and often does so to relax. He also loves music (he got that from his mother), and sings in several choirs.
