The Investment Management Consultants Association is currently seeking nominations for two writing awards-the 2009 Richard J. Davis Ethics Award and the 2009 IMCA Journal Award. Both awards will be presented at the IMCA 2009 Spring Professional Development Conference, which will be held May 3-5, 2009, in San Diego.

The Davis Ethics Award honors the author of an article that has "made a significant contribution to advancing the understanding and knowledge of investment management consulting and/or private wealth management in the area of ethics, and/or the fiduciary, legal, or regulatory issues that affect these professional practices." The award was first presented in 2004. Past recipients include Robert Prentice, Joseph Holt, Meir Statman, and Gordon Marino.

The IMCA Journal Award honors the author of an original article that "represents the best writing for the previous year, germane to the investment management consulting and/or private wealth management professions." Each piece will be evaluated for its academic and analytical vision and originality of research. Past recipients of this award include Ross Barry, Ronald Kahn, A. Craig MacKinlay, Jianping Mei, Matthew Morey, Michael Moses, Andrew Rudd, and Ron Surz.

Nominations are due no later than December 12. Further information is available here.
