Scott Curtis is the new chairman of the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association.

Curtis is a senior vice president at Raymond James Financial Inc., St. Petersburg, Fla., according to IMSA, Bethesda, Md.

"As the entire financial services industry continues down the path of regulatory modernization, IMSA's national insurance focused sales and suitability standards, compliance solutions, efficiency services, and consumer educational tools should be very valuable," Curtis says in a statement about his new post.

IMSA has picked Kevin Slawin, president of Allstate Financial Distribution, a unit of Allstate Corp., Northbrook, Ill., to be chairman-elect.
