Letter To The Editor: Comment Not Helpful

Jeffrey Flanzer writes: Re: Dennis Lentin's letter to the editor in the September 2008 issue of LTC e-wire (The danger of group LTC policies), I am a new LTC specialist and don't understand Mr. Lentin's comment about the motives of many LTC agents, namely:

"I am sure that a great deal of agents will not agree. We have to remember, however, that LTC insurance is for the protection of the family, not the enrichment of the agent."

Is our field so filled with self-serving, service-disoriented and harmful-to-family advisors that this disparaging remark is helpful and accurate?
