A worksite carrier has revised 2 protection policies.

Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company, Columbia, S.C., a unit of Unum Group Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., is introducing new versions of its universal life and whole life policies.

The new UL policy comes with lower premiums, less restrictive underwriting on health and height and weight questions, new long term care benefit and restoration of benefits riders, and higher commissions on broker-driven sales, Colonial Life says.

The new whole life policy offers maximum face amounts of $100,000, up from $50,000, on both the paid-up at age 65 and paid-up at age 95 plans, Colonial Life says.

The new whole life policy also offers better rates for non-smokers, immediate claims payments of $3,000 on all face amounts, and underwriting changes that will eliminate height and weight questions for some face amounts.
