Like Elder, Like Adult Child

"Baby boomers are failing to follow the tried-and-true retirement planning disciplines that enabled their parents to achieve a satisfying retirement," says Generational Differences in Retirement Planning: Adult Children of Retired Parents, a study conducted by Mathew Greenwald & Associates on behalf of NAVA. The research also found that boomers possess a more adventurous attitude that may actually benefit their retirement planning efforts in the long run. The NAVA study revealed that boomers have a less positive view of their parents' retirement than their parents do. In fact, only 37% of boomers surveyed said they would be very satisfied with their parents' lifestyles in retirement.
