Many members of traditional Medicare plans oppose the idea of cutting the Medicare Advantage budget to protect Medicare physician reimbursement rates.
About 71% of Medicare Advantage plan members oppose Medicare Advantage plan funding reductions, and only 12% support the cuts, according to America's Health Insurance Plans, Washington.
When a polling firm commissioned by AHIP asked traditional Medicare plan members the same question, only 14% said they support Medicare Advantage cuts. Another 46% said they oppose the proposed cuts, and 40% said they did not know.
The polling firm surveyed 400 Medicare Advantage plan members and 401 traditional plan members earlier this month.
