Jeff Montgomery will be joining Al Frank Asset Management as CEO effective May 1. He was formerly CEO of the broker/dealer National Financial Partners Securities, Inc.

Joby Gruber, president of FSC Securities and Advantage Capital, two broker/dealers in the AIG Advisor Group, resigned following the disclosure that he had allowed a subordinate to take his 2007 firm element CE proficiency tests.

AIG Advisor Group president and CEO Larry Roth will serve as interim chief of the two B/Ds.

Jeff Auld has resigned his position as president of Berthel Fisher & Co., which he joined in a high-profile move from Next Financial in 2006.

Gary Diffendaffer has joined the staff of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) as director of certification, with responsibility for the expansion and development of IMCA's Certified Investment Management Analyst and Chartered Private Wealth Advisor designation programs. Diffendaffer previously served as executive VP of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

Raymond James announced that Angela Biever joined the firm in the new position of chief administrative officer. She was most recently VP of Intel Capital.
