The American College has awarded the Special Care Planner professional designation to about 110 individuals over the past few months.

The Bryn Mawr, Pa., financial services college developed the 4-day SCP designation training program specifically for employees of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass., according to MassMutual.

The SCP program includes material on estate and tax planning concepts, special needs trusts, government programs, and other topics useful to professionals who are working with families affected by disability and other conditions leading to special needs, MassMutual says.
