Lipper Fund Awards 2008

Six fund families and 35 individual mutual funds, honored for delivering "consistently superior investment performance," among peers, took home trophies from the Lipper Fund Awards 2008–U.S., held in New York on April 9, according to an announcement from the fund research firm, which is part of Reuters.

American Funds took top honors for Best Overall Fund Family among large firms; Best Overall Fund Family in the small firms category went to Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company. Loomis Sayles & Company won Best Equity Fund Family among large firms, and Brazos Capital Management walked away with Best Equity Fund Family in the small firms peer group. The award for Best Fixed Income Fund Family in the large-firms category went to Thornburg Investment Management; among small firms, Nationwide Funds Group won the Best Fixed Income Fund Family award. Goldman Sachs received the award for Best Mixed Assets Fund Family, large firms; and Ivy Funds, Ivy Investment Management Company, won Best Mixed Assets Fund Family honors for small firms.
