Personnel Changes: American College, Securian, Others

The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa. has named Charles "Tip" Cronin III as vice president of its Advancement Division.

Cronin will be responsible for strategic and operational management at the College, which provides educational services to the financial services industry. His duties will include building relationships with key constituents and developing voluntary support, the College says.

Securian Financial Group, St. Paul, Minn., named Christopher Couillard as its manager of field retention and value analysis.

In his new position, Couillard will help Securian measure the value it brings as a to the firms that distribute its products and services.

Couillard also will be executive director of the Premiere Resource Group, an organization of successful Securian advisors who share their education and expertise. He previously was manager, life product research and design for Minnesota Life, a Securian subsidiary.

SMART Business Advisory and Consulting LLC announced the addition of three life actuaries.

Christian DesRochers, Michael LeBoeuf and Brian King will be based in SMART's office in Hartford.

DesRochers and King are among the coauthors of "Life Insurance and Modified Endowments," a Society of Actuaries text on policyholder tax issues.

Prior to joining SMART, DesRochers, LeBoeuf and King were with AON Consulting, Chicago.

Woodbury Financial Services, Woodbury, Minn., has hired Marvin Clark as chief technology officer, a newly created position. Woodbury, a broker-dealer, is part of Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.

Previously, Clark had been director of advisor online servicing for Ameriprise Financial, Minneapolis.
