One payment technology company is picking up another payment technology firm.

Metavante Corp., Milwaukee, a company that sells payment services to health plans and other corporate customers, says it will be acquiring BenSoft Inc., San Diego, the company that sells the RepayMe system, a Web-based tool that account plan members can use to get insurance or health account reimbursement for eligible expenses.

Accounts that can be linked to the system include flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, health reimbursement arrangements, dependent care accounts and transportation accounts.

BenSoft sells the system to independent benefit plan administrators and employers that run their own health plans as well as to health insurers and managed care companies.

Metavante will combine the RepayMe system with its own family of health payment services, Metavante says.
