- Check for people who might be listening when communicating personal information.
- Don't print either your Social Security number or driver's license number on personal checks.
- Reconcile your checkbook monthly.
- Cancel and properly dispose of any credit cards you haven't used in the last year.
- When entering a web site, don't use the automatic login feature that saves your name and password.
- Order a copy of your credit report and scrutinize each year.
- Photocopy the contents of your wallet and keep in a safe place.
