Steven Romick has managed the $1.4 billion FPA Crescent Fund since its inception in June 1993, and is trustee, president, and CIO of the fund, as well as a partner in First Pacific Advisors, LLC. He manages about $2 billion overall, including contrarian value style separate accounts, and the FPA Multi-Advisor and Hawkeye Funds. Before joining FPA in 1996, Romick was chairman of Crescent Management, and a consulting security analyst for Kaplan, Nathan & Co.
He holds the CFA designation, and a Northwestern University BS in education. When he has a moment to unwind, Romick likes to "surf and do yoga, ride a bike, play with my kids."
