Insurance Services Office Inc. has acquired HealthCare Insight L.L.C., a company that develops systems for identifying questionable health claims.

ISO, Jersey City, N.J., is not saying how much it paid for HealthCare Insight, Sandy, Utah.

But ISO, a risk measurement and risk management firm, says HealthCare Insight will keep its current offices in Utah and continue to operate under the leadership of the company's current president, Barry Johnson.

"In terms of the HealthCare Insights acquisition, there are no management or personnel changes associated with this deal," says Wayne Lattuca, a vice president at ISO.

HealthCare Insight relies heavily on its employees because the company combines use of automated claim analysis software with reviews by doctors, registered nurses, dentists and other "live human beings."

ISO Chairman Frank Coyne says the HealthCare Insight deal will help ISO expand the scope of its fraud detection services business.

ISO already sells fraud detection services in the mortgage lending and property-casualty insurance markets.
